Main knowledge/understanding required

* The main classes of business insurance, the company's procedures & rules & (to the extent it relates to the job) regulation & compliance
* Other types of business insurance, insurance market practice, principles of insurance, the main methods controlling/reducing insurance risk, specific law (insurance & otherwise), the main types of personal lines insurance, claims handling, health & safety0

Main duties/responsibilities

* To achieve any personal or team business production targets set & agreed with your manager
* To produce new business from referrals & proactive sales activity
* To identify & pursue opportunities to cross-sell appropriate products & services to existing clients
* To cultivate recommendations & referrals from existing clients
* To establish strong relationships with potential clients, influencers & suppliers
* To correctly assess clients & prospective clients' demands & needs & recommend appropriate products wherever possible
* To administer the insurance portfolios of allocated clients in a timely, professional & cost-effective manner
* To maintain effective credit control in respect of your allocated clients
* To assist with the administration of the insurance arrangements of appointed representatives in accordance with company procedures
* To provide administrative support to Account Executives, Directors & other members of the team
* To comply with regulatory requirements, industry codes of practice & the company's own procedures & rules
* To ensure that any clients with whom you deal are treated fairly at all times
* To be aware of & manage any potential conflict of interest
* To immediately report any significant failures to comply with regulatory requirements to the Board of Directors
* To immediately refer any complaints from customers or insurers to the Director
* To undergo training in line with agreed objectives, keep up to date with technical, legal & market developments & participate fully with T & C procedures
* To maintain & develop personal knowledge & skills through Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
* To develop & maintain good working relationships with clients, colleagues, insures & other suppliers
* To immediately advise your manager of any problem, issue or request which falls outside your authority, level of experience or knowledge, or which could in any way detract from your ability to achieve your work objectives
* To undertake any additional duties which have been specifically assigned to you &/or may be reasonably requested by your Manager or the Directors
* Seek to promote the services of the entire Group
