Impulse Embedded Limited, a leading UK based 'Internet of Things' technology company are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and hardworking senior buyer to join our growing, dynamic technology and computing business. Reporting into the Operations Director, you will be responsible for the day to day purchasing requirements of the company, ensuring that resources are used effectively and that targets are met. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES - Operate the purchasing requisition process within our ERP system - Contribute to the success of the business and have strong commercial acumen to exploit cost down/cost avoidance opportunities - Selecting suppliers, ensuring you achieve the best possible prices and commercial terms using your negotiation skills - Building new and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers - Maintaining stock levels in line with agreed targets - Managing lead-times to meet JIT manufacturing processes - Liaising with the sales team in identifying suppliers for new product requirements - Analysing and evaluating purchasing trends to identify savings - Monitoring and reporting on suppliers' performance ensuring they are meeting the needs of the business - Responsible for meeting goals/objectives and KPI's - Review aspects/areas for improvement with your own practice/processes - Responsible for maintaining up to date price lists from suppliers - Assess and implement any forms of improvements for your department - Under the direction of your line manager, responsible for financial management within your department REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE/SKILL - Experience working in a procurement and buying department - Willing to learn and take on new challenges - Ability to work under pressure in a challenging environment - Experience of working in an engineering or manufacturing business (ideally) - Experience of importing, shipping and landing costs - Experience in maximising cost savings/cost avoidance - Maximising the efficiencies of transactional requirements - Be enthusiastic and passionate about negotiations and improving purchasing relationships - Great at building relationships and driving value from our procurement activities - All round commercial business awareness - Excellent communication and inter personal skills in dealing with our suppliers and sales teams - IT literate - specifically MS Office packages REMUNERATION Salary: Up to £22,000 - 28,000 per annum + performance bonus. The remuneration package includes an excellent monthly salary and benefits. There is also the opportunity to travel to Europe and beyond to attend various training courses and industry specific conferences to further your knowledge and professional development.
