Quality Engineer Birmingham £30k- £34k The Company My client is a fast-paced aerospace manufacturer with several sites across the UK. They employ over 100 people at their Birmingham site, current turnover is £30 million per annum and they have ambitious plans to grow to a £100 million company in the next five years. The site manufactures aircraft engine parts and bogey landing gear for clients including OEM's in the Aerospace industry. The company are receiving huge investment from new owners and are on a mission to create a proactive and controlled quality culture. As a result of their continued growth they are looking to recruit a Quality Engineer focused on the production of DVI and FAIR documentation for one of their key customers with immediate effect. You would be joining a team of 12 highly experienced Quality Engineers working for a manager with years of experience in the Aerospace and Automotive industries. The Role The Role of Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring all documentation is in place to ensure that our client can provide parts to one of their key customers. This requires all of the DVI and FAIR packs to contain all required information for customer approval. You will be dealing pre-dominantly with one key OEM customer and will be their day to day point of contact to keep them informed of progress. Your key duties will involve: - Ensuring that the FAIR/DVI documentation shows all the inspection plans and manufacturing methods are correct. - Producing FAIR concession documents - this is where the FAIR has not been fully met properly but an agreement is made the the customer is happy to receive goods. - Carry out 8D and RCCA where concessions have arisen - Key point of contact for updating customer with approval processes being completed, discussions can be daily and visits once a month. The Candidate To be successful in your application for this Quality Engineer's role you will need: - Experience within a Quality Engineering role within the Automotive, Aerospace, Formula 1 or Oil & Gas Markets. - Experience in the production of FAIR, PPAP or DVI documentation - Excellent problem-solving skills. - Experience in the use of 8D Problem solving tools. - An understanding of machining processes.
