The client As one of the most recognised brands in the world, our client strives to design and build outstanding products built to stand the test of time and to outshine the competition in regards to quality. Safety, comfort and endurance. We are currently looking to expand the engineering capability and bring in a HS&E Manager for the site in Staffordshire. Main focus of the role The Health, Safety and Environment Manager will represent the business to our UK wide client base and control all aspects of on-site HS&E requirements. Responsibilities The main responsibilities of the HS&E Manager will include the following responsibilities: - Deliver effective risk management within the Projects department, including ensuring risk reduction and mitigation measures are implemented on site and there is appropriate emergency preparedness - Ensure compliance to site HS&E legal requirements, group policies and international Health, Safety and Environmental management standards - Monitor and act upon site HS&E performance trends to develop objectives and deliver improvement plans - Identify site HS&E competence requirements and provide the necessary training, through your team - Report and investigate all site HS&E incidents, near misses and hazard spots and follow up improvement actions - Further develop the site HS&E culture and drive effective site HS&E governance within the business Required Experience & qualifications The ideal candidate for the role or HS&E Manager should have a NEBOSH Diploma, relevant degree or equivalent and be CMIOSH, or working towards it. The applicant should have extensive, proven experience working within HS&E in particular operating at HS&E Manager (or similar) level. An understanding of environmental management would be an advantage. The HS&E Manager should be computer literate and willing to travel extensively within the UK and occasionally overseas. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, show commitment and have a sense of urgency and passion for continual improvement and best practice HS&E management.
