One of the world's largest defence & security organisations are now seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Coventry. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing design authority approval for mechanical aspects of the system design, in addition to owning the mechanical design and product configuration control processes. Due to the nature of the work all applicants must be able and willing to obtain SC clearance. This is a permanent opportunity with a salary of up to £45,000 + fantastic company benefits. Due to the nature of the work all applicants must be able and willing to obtain SC clearance. The Lead Mechanical Engineer is the team's subject matter expert on all mechanical installation and equipment matters. If successful you will lead on all mechanical issues, improvement resolution and provide the mechanical aspect of system design authority and release to service of the systems. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Being the team's internal SME on all aspects of mechanical design - Act as lead engineer on delegated projects and proposals - Provide design authority approval for mechanical aspects of the system design - Determine the environmental qualification strategy and impact of change on existing qualification - Propose and implement resolutions to in-service events and changes to requirements - Own the mechanical design and product configuration control processes Skills Required - Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent - Component, Enclosure and Vehicle installation design using Solid Edge - Drawing system management, parts cataloguing and design configuration control at vehicle and equipment level. - Able to work with external suppliers and production assemblers to resolve issues and refine product Desirable Criteria - Knowledge of equipment installation design for UK military vehicles - Knowledge of electro-mechanical robotic systems - Solid Edge CAD system configuration Should you be interested in applying or hearing more about this position please submit your application to Daniel Smith on *********** or email your latest CV This vacancy is being advertised by Advanced Resource Managers.
