Settlement Worker / Support Worker A great opportunity to work for a worthwhile Housing Association SAHA is a registered housing association providing housing and support primarily for single homeless people. Position: Settlement Worker Location: Binswood, Warwickshire Contract: Permanent, full time Hours: 37.5 per week Salary: £17,589- £19,905 dependent on experience Closing Date: 15th October 2017 About the role: Following recent successful award of countywide services for Young people we are seeking a settlement worker to join our team. Our Warwickshire Service is currently made up of 8 accommodation based support services providing focussed support for care leavers, young parents and young people with complex needs. The services are located across the county. Our aim is to assist clients to gain the skills necessary for independent living. The post holder will take the lead on undertaking comprehensive needs and risk assessments with all clients who apply for accommodation in accordance with SAHA's allocation procedure. You will also be responsible for: -Ensuring that all clients who are accepted for accommodation receive an intensive support package including induction taster courses, for the first two weeks of their stay, in partnership with the Learning and Activities Co-ordinators. -Ensuring that all clients are given the security and support they require in order to maximise their independence, dignity and choice, in accordance with the aims and objectives of the service. -Providing a structured, personalised resettlement service to every client. -Supporting clients who have experienced homelessness to move into their own homes in a planned and supported way -Ensuring that clients who are ready to move on are given the security and support to maximise their independence, dignity and choice, in accordance with the aims and objectives of the service About you: If you are hardworking, creative, innovative, able to think outside the box, work well on your own as well as part of a team which delivers positive outcomes and have a real passion for working with their client group then they would love to hear from you. Experience of using risk management tools in the effective management of supported housing schemes which including positive risk taking is required. You must also be able to demonstrate good people skills in managing complex and difficult situations, and have experience and understanding of working with a diverse and multi-cultural environment. Intermediate level of IT applications and keyboard skills is also necessary. Experience of link working is desirable, as is knowledge of the Supporting People programme, Housing Association Legislation and of community and volunteer resources.
