A Quality Engineer is required to join and Innovative Aerospace Manufacturing facility on a Permanent Basis. The successful Quality Engineer will join the Production and Manufacturing Department and work within the manufacturing teams to improve the level of product quality.

The successful Quality Engineer will assist to increase Quality awareness and ensure compliance with the company's Quality Management System.

Responsibilities and Experience Required of the Quality Engineer

* Adhere to all the HSE rules of the site and the company
* Coach other employees in the use of 4D and 8D problem solving techniques
* Conduct and analyse SPC, Capability Studies and recommend process improvements
* Lead problem solving and process improvement teams, defining objectives
* Report on quality performance through BIS charts and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)
* Raise Engineering Change Request (ECR) as required, support others in ECR process
* Train production operators in the correct use of relevant measuring equipment
* Create work instructions for the correct use of measurement systems
* Research and recommend innovative technology in measuring techniques
* Ensure that all systems meet the requirements of the Quality Management System
* Train production operators for first off approval, including dimensional checks
* Provide ongoing technical training to Quality Support Function
* Conduct spot checks and participate in internal and external audits in accordance with QMS
* Close out Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) arising from internal or external audits
* Provide technical advice and training to the Quality Department
* Update or create documents and procedures for the Quality Management Procedures
* Support First Article Approvals and Qualifications of new products
* Liaise with other departments including Central Engineering and Purchasing
* Support Cell Leader on quality issues as and when required
* Be prepared to travel to suppliers, and other sites within the Group

Qualifications & Requirements of the Quality Engineer

* Six Sigma Green Belt knowledge and qualification is desirable
* BTEC HNC or Equivalent in Engineering or Quality Discipline
* Knowledge of Metallurgy and Heat Treatment Processes
* Required to demonstrate customer focus, initiative, and teamwork ethics
* Demonstrate leadership, active listening, communication, negotiation and delegation skills
* Process driven with a fact and data based approach to problem solving
* Ability to understand technical engineering operations and processes
* Demonstrate an assertive approach and desire to improve all aspects of quality related work
* computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Demonstrate a good understanding of supplier/customer relationships
* Experience working within Aerospace Industry is Desirable
* Possess a strong customer awareness and focus
* Experience of Auditing Procedures e.g. NADCAP
* Six Sigma Green Belt - Qualified

Security Clearance may be required due to the nature of the Products being Manufactured
