A Multi skilled Maintenance Engineer is required for a leading organisation based in Stourport. The role will be a double day shift role and is for an immediate start. The package on offer is circa £28,000 plus shift allowances and many other benefits.

The multi skilled electrical bias maintenance Engineer role is a demanding and extremely varied role, which will require you to install, repair and service many different types of machinery on site. You will also provide a comprehensive facilities maintenance service.

The preferred candidate will be a qualified industrial electrician / multi skilled engineer capable of working with machines and PLC and have good mechanical engineering skills being able to help overhaul and maintain machinery. Ultimately, this role will have a valuable impact on our core operational targets.

As a multi skilled maintenance engineer the Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and service all machinery; including mechanical and electrical aspects. The bias would be 70/30

• Install and commission equipment and machinery electrically, pneumatically and mechanically

• Troubleshoot faults with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems in a wide variety of situations

• Sourcing and re-working of parts for compaction presses, centreless grinders, surface grinders, kilns, compressors, ball mills etc.

• Troubleshoot faults with control gear and PLC systems

• Monitor and execute PPM of numerous machines and plant such as compaction presses, centreless grinders, surface grinders, kilns, compressors, ball mills etc..

• Carrying out other property / facilities / maintenance duties as required; including monitoring, setting and maintenance of the heating, water and lighting systems.

• Monitor and execute Planned Preventative Maintenance on various systems within the building such as annual inspection and testing of all electrical systems

• To manage consumable items and spend, obtaining quotations, raising purchase orders, procuring products or services.

Essential skills & experience:

• Mechanical maintenance experience and electrical qualifications to 17th edition are essential

• This is a hands on job requiring engineering skill levels to technician level or similar/higher

• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems

• Conversant with control gear and PLC systems (especially Mitsubishi and Siemens)

• Applicants with a background in production / manufacturing machinery preferred

• Conversant with H&S rules, regulations and best practices

• Knowledge of manual handling

• Ability to clearly and concisely record information

• Must be able to prioritise workload

• Excellent communicator

• Flexible to work out of hours when production requires


• 17th edition electrical regulations

• C&G 236 level 3 or equivalent

• Apprenticeship or equivalent in an engineering discipline


• A team player, working from own initiative and resilient;

• Responsive and self-motivated;

• Able to work to deadlines;

• Analytical in approach to problem solving;

• Flexibility to work, as necessary, to satisfy the business needs; especially where dealing with machine breakdowns.

• The ability to make effective decisions while under pressure.

• Be able to perform a highly physical job

• Comfortable working at height, Cherry Picker Licence an advantage.
