Water & Air Hygiene Engineer

Location: Midlands

Salary:18k to 20k basic +plus overtime (including travel time paid) – OTE £22k to £25k

Our client is a leading provider in the water & air hygiene services sector.

The Role

The role requires an individual who is capable of carrying out duties in accordance with relevant legislation including the ACOP L8 / HSG 274 “The control of Legionella Bacteria in Water Systems’’ and BESA standard TR19.

Duties on air works include:

? Ductwork cleaning and disinfections by the means of entering ductwork either through a confined space or access points to clean and decontaminate the ductwork, using either manual or mechanical cleaning methods all in accordance with TR19 and applicable COSHH regulations.

? Inspection and testing of ventilation system fire dampers

? Grease readings in kitchen extracts and grease filter cleans.

? Deep cleaning of kitchen areas, including removing all kitchen items and cleaning the floors, walls, externals of ovens, fridge’s etc.

? Report writing

Duties on water works include:

? Temperature monitoring

? Asset labelling

? Bacteriological sampling

? Cleaning and disinfection of systems including cooling towers

? Thermostatic Mixer Valves servicing (TMV)

? Modifications to and problem solving on hot, cold and LTHW heating systems

? Completing paperwork and logbooks

? Liaison with the client at all levels

? Report writing

Skills and Experience Required

? You will have experience either as a water hygiene engineer or air hygiene engineer, training will be provide where required

? Full driving license is required as is a flexible attitude to travel

? Security clearance via the Prison Service is essential for this role as is a DBS check.

Normal hours of work will be 08.00am – 16.15pm Monday to Thursday and to 16.00pm on a Friday.

There will be out of hours working, for example working 8 – 10 hours on a night shift.

Additionally some weekend work may be necessary as will staying away from home during some longer jobs.
