This post requires a strong-willed mathematics graduate who has a passionate approach based on their own love of learning. You must have the skills to confidently participate in after school clubs and show the resolve and drive that will see you flourish as a teacher.
As a maths Teaching Assistant you will be working across Key Stages 3 and 4 in the maths department, supporting them in achieving and maintaining the expected levels. An ongoing task during your placement will be to support the teacher in planning and preparing lessons, contributing innovative and fresh ideas to further drive engagement and attainment. You will have the chance to lead individual sessions with particularly gifted or challenging pupils and help to run smaller 'booster' groups. By working closely with expert teachers and undergoing evaluations any areas you are struggling with will be quickly developed through a thorough CPD and training package.
