Weekend Care Assistant / Weekend Support WorkerAt Active Assistance you will be able to put your caring nature into practice. We recruit specifically for each of our clients to ensure that we tailor the care to their individual needs. You will be known as a Personal Assistant which is what sets us aside from other care companies. We are currently recruiting a Weekend Support Worker for our young client who lives in Walsall.

Weekend Support Worker required in Walsall

Our client is a 14 year old boy who lives in his family home with his parents and siblings. He has cerebral palsy and epilepsy and uses a wheelchair. Monday to Friday he attends a specialist school where his support workers accompany him. Two support workers provide care on a Saturday. He is non-verbal but can communicate his needs using a communication board and facial gestures. He also needs assistance with feeding and has a PEG. Part of your role will be to assist with his personal hygiene. At the weekend he may wish to go to the park or the shops but he also enjoys playing computer games.

The family are looking for someone who has an interest in working with children and young people. You must be willing to interact with the client and have a calm and patient manner. You do not need to have experience in this field as we provide full training. Our Clinical Managers will ensure that you feel competent in your role before you are lone working.

As you will be working in a family environment you will need to be mindful of this and respect their privacy.

    Part-Time positionSaturday 11am-3pm and occasionally 9am-5pmAdditional hours available for sickness and annual leave cover£8.50 per hour
