Functional Skills Tutor
Street League use sport and physical activity to tackle youth unemployment. We specialise in helping our participants (16-24 year olds from disadvantaged areas) progress from our unique football, fitness or dance-fitness and education programmes into sustainable employment, education and training. We are a growing organisation and currently operate across the UK in 14 regions, including Greater London, the North East and North West of England, Yorkshire, West Midlands and across Scotland. A new opportunity has arisen to deliver Maths and English to the young people on our programmes in Birmingham. The Functional Skills Tutor will be responsible for planning, delivering and developing our functional skills curriculum (Maths and English) for our participants, progressing them from their initial assessment level to at least one level higher as part of Street League’s Academy programme, which lasts 10-20 weeks. You will have overall responsibility for ensuring that young people are retained on our course and achieve their functional skills qualifications. Experience of planning, developing and delivering Functional Skills up to Level 2 in either Maths or English (ideally both) is essential, plus a teaching qualification. Experience in working with our client group is desirable plus an appropriate assessor qualification. Please download the full Job Pack attached.
