Job Purpose Responsible for the transactions within our ledgers (Treasury, Purchase and Sales ledgers and Credit Control) and any transactions relating to other group entities derived from the UK. Delivery of controls and processes around cash flow to satisfy policies of the Institution. Oversee processes for paying suppliers, receiving payments from customers, subscription allocation execution and treasury and banking management. Responsibilities include; - Recruit, shape and develop overall transactional function within the Finance Department - Manage Sales Ledger process ensuring cash is collected as efficiently as possible and within the policy framework - Manage Purchase Ledger process to ensure suppliers, members and employee expenses are paid accurately and promptly and within the policy framework - Manage the Global Treasury function to ensure cash is managed effectively as per finance policies, to include monitoring and forecasting balances in all currencies - Seek further improvements to the current UK financial control environment - Implement system change for International payments - Manage a team as set out within the Finance organisation structure - Proactively create an environment to ensure the Finance team remains engaged and empowered to deliver the business objectives and collaborate cross functionally - Provide financial support to the Group Financial Controller and Senior Managers, working with them to produce data and KPIS as applicable - Adding value to the business by driving the financial and operational performance of the business, providing relevant financial reporting - Ensure a good understanding of performance drivers within the department and within the organisation - Continual development of reports to drive improved financial performance - Deliver to the period end timetable - Ensure the external and internal audit processes are adhered to on a timely basis - Develop own initiatives to improve support to the business and drive process improvements Requirements - Experienced finance professional with demonstrable experience in a similar environment (full transactional or shared service centre experience) - Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and information and can present it in a clear and logical format as well as able to discuss it with non-financial individuals. - Understanding of tax principles and tax risks around the transaction environment - Experience of multi-entity, multi-currency reporting - Understanding of ledger environments and treasury management - Excellent skills on Microsoft Office - Line management experience The role will be relocating to central Birmingham late 2017/ early 2018.
