Your new company

My client are a household name in the retail industry with a UK wide store network of over 700 and strong presence globally with 30,000 employees. They now have a requirement for an experienced HR Business Partner to manage the daily operations of their Stoke on Trent Distribution Centre managing a team of 2 in HR.

Your new role

You will provide HR Business Partnering to specific areas of the organisation. Working with the leadership and their teams to drive high performance.

Working closely with customers, centres of expertise and Head of HR, you will facilitate the development of a functional people plan that embeds the Group people practices and activities and which is tailored to the functional needs to drive key focus on employee engagement, talent and organisation effectiveness.

Ensure all key HR calendar events are effectively managed across the functions - ensuring clear customer engagement and effective planning of activity and co-ordinate and facilitate regular talent management reviews with functional leadership teams ensuring the process is well managed, action plans are in place for individuals, pipeline planning, succession and development actions to support the wider organisation talent strategy.

You will provide relevant people metric information to Directors and Senior Management to enable decision making and action plan whilst Influencing the business to adopt the practice of line manager as a people manager.

You will act as a coach to the Senior team to develop leadership capability, identify future talent, engage their teams and manage change effectively and coach and develop Managers to increase their effectiveness in managing individuals and team performance. Key to this role is to support delivery of organisational change initiatives e.g. implementation of new structures, ways of working, changes to reward and benefit policies and skills development.

You will support recruitment, selection and induction by providing monitoring progress, compliance and effectiveness, advising on improvements to practices where necessary, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and employment legislation.

What you'll need to succeed

As HR Business Partner, you will possess strong commercial acumen, planning and prioritisation, change management and be able to coach, facilitate and communicate influencing skills.

You will have strong collaboration and relationship building skills and be comfortable in dealing with conflict and ambiguity whilst delivering results with and through others.

You will have an extensive track record in a generalist HR position within a highly commercial and fast paced environment with regular exposure to and influencing senior business stakeholders including executive team.

You will have proven track record of working with business leaders to drive and manage change to improve business performance.

You will be able to demonstrate complex ER experience case management experience and knowledge including mediation, disciplinary, grievance, maternity and advising on performance management approaches

What you'll get in return
