Senior ICT Engineer (2nd/3rd Line Support)
We have a vacancy within our friendly team for a Senior ICT Engineer and we are seeking an enthusiastic candidate who is passionate about technology.
We are a busy and dynamic managed service provider to the Education Sector and the role we are offering is partly office based and partly field based. The successful candidate will be servicing our clients across Herefordshire and surrounding counties.
We are looking for someone who is easily able to adapt to the roles required of our contracts which include Network Manager to our Secondary School clients, managing budgets, projects and directing schools onsite engineering teams, providing 2nd line support to our own in-house engineers as well providing input and direction and guidance to our managed service platform of over 300 physical and virtual servers and 2500 desktop devices.
This position will come with the shared responsibility of managing and the further development of our data centre facility.
The role encompasses a large amount of diversity and is exposed to all elements of technology so we expect the successful candidate to demonstrate an appetite for IT, a passion for getting the best from it and to not be intimidated with taking on new technology challenges.

Requirements of the Role:
Demonstrate a detailed history of working with Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop Operating systems and Windows Server Applications with a focus on Virtualisation, Exchange, Active Directory and Group Policy with relevant qualifications
Demonstrate a detailed history of working with server hardware, network switches, SAN technologies
Strong understanding of core network principles and technologies including Wi-Fi, routers and associated broadband/ leased line/WAN Internet services
Experience with deploying and managing firewalls from Dell Sonicwall, Smoothwall and Open Source
Experience with cloud technologies including Office 365, Azure and cloud backups and their related administration
Experience/knowledge of Apple iPad deployments and MDM administration
Experience/knowledge and accreditation of Cisco, Citrix and VMWare products would be considered useful but not essential
Manage and be responsible for, the end to end requirement for ICT support within the client sites they manage, liaising with 3rd party contractors and suppliers where required
Accurately log and document all calls received ensuring the correct priority and update/resolution route is assigned. Ensure key information for problem resolution is captured at all times.
Provide 2nd / 3rd line support to our own engineering team as well as support engineers from other client sites
Provide documentation for sites managed and solutions deployed.
The post comes with 24 days' holiday per year and appointment is subject to clearing a DBS check at Enhanced level.
