Assistant Accountant

- Covering all accounts functions including cashiering, sales ledger, purchase ledger & nominal ledger
- Good organisational skills, the ability to work independently as well as part of a team to meet Group deadlines
- Excellent communication skills for dealing with customers, suppliers & internal managers
- Good understanding of Excel
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail

- Intercompany reconciliations

- UK to Spain / Spain to UK
- Weekly/monthly reconciliation

- Processing monthly payroll

- Collation of all time-sheets
- Entering details into payroll system
- Processing payroll & paying of employees
- Producing pay slips & circulation

- Credit control

- Monthly statements
- Chasing outstanding accounts
- Cash account control
- Identifying & resolving account discrepancies
- Producing reports as required

- Warranty debtor control

- Processing PYI warranty credit notes
- Clearing warranty debt against credits
- Liaising with warranty manager to ensure all claims are being dealt with

- Key supplier account reconciliation

- Kerridge preferred but not essential

- Balance sheet monthly reconciliations

- Key reconciliations on a periodic basis
- Warranty and berthing
- VAT/Intrastats monthly submissions
- Providing cover/assistance with cashier and purchase ledger as required
- Assist the management team by resolving any accounting queries
- Ensure that all queries are dealt with in a timely manner
- Assist other members of the accounts team to ensure that deadlines are met where necessary

- Motor Dealership experience preferred but not essential, Kerridge DMS experience is preferred if possible.
- The aim is for them to be contributing into production of the Spanish management accounts within 6 months once they have learned the company's systems and processes, covered all the accounting roles of bank, purchase ledger, sales ledger and nominal ledger.
