Instrumentation Field Service Engineer – Midlands £30-£34k plus benefit

Job Description

The position will be Midlands based and will involve on-site servicing / repair of high quality analytical instruments installed throughout the area, but not limited to as further travel in to adjoining territories may be required. Mandatory attributes include a tertiary chemistry or electronics qualification and the ability to drive.

Experience in servicing laboratory instruments is preferable, as is experience with servicing gas flow systems and their controlling circuits and good familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Apple operating systems.

Experience in servicing GC - Mass Spectrometer systems would be well regarded and highly beneficial towards helping support our Sep Sci team.

The applicant should be able to demonstrate good written and oral communication skills, good familiarity with Microsoft Office programs, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Skills and requirements

-Strong troubleshooting skills

-Experience in both electrical and mechanical maintenance

-Understanding of schematic and flow diagrams

-Full UK driving license - Willingness to travel on short notice and overnight stay if required

-Must be responsible and punctual

-Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and electronically to customers and colleagues
