Our client are a renowned manufacturer of chain linkage products and they are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer for their busy operations. Evaluates manufacturing processes and recommends changes by designing and conducting research programmes. Applying knowledge of product design, production methods, tooling and material conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators. Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods, tooling and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors. Improves manufacturing productivity, output, efficiency, work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout. Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes. Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labour, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements. Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends. Improves compliance with all HSE requirements and guidelines. Improves equipment reliability by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service. Maintains the visual ERP system with product and process data as required. Implements improvement projects and handover to production including training and guiding setter/operators. The right individual will be an experienced manufacturing engineer who has experience of Heavy Industry. Proven track record of process improvement and improving efficiences. Knowledge of Forge and Foundry sectors will be a distinct advantage.
