Role - Manufacturing Engineer (CAD/CAM) Location - Birmingham Salary - £36,000 - £40,000 The Company My client is a manufacturer of bespoke machined and turned components for the aerospace and gas turbine industries with three manufacturing sites in the Midlands. The company employs 100 people at the Birmingham manufacturing site and 300 across their group. The company have a wide range of complex multi axis milling and turning machines used in their process and machine parts from exotic metals including Nickel Alloys, Titanium and Magnesium. The business has ambitious plans to grow from a £30 million to £100 million business in the next five years. They have recently won a lot of new project work with key clients and due to excellent performance will be bringing on board lots more work in the future resulting in additional headcount needed across the business. Their Birmingham site has a new vacancy for a Manufacturing Engineer with CAD/CAM experience (Catia/Solidworks) to be involved in new product introduction and improving current manufacturing methods, if you are looking to join a highly successful company at a very exciting time then apply now for immediate consideration! The Role As a Manufacturing Engineer (CAD/CAM) you will be responsible for producing models, cutting paths and NC programmes for both new and existing products. You will be fully responsible for defining the manufacturing methods of these components working closely with machine operatives and tooling engineers. Your duties will involve: - Producing CAD models on Solidworks and Catia for components to be manufactured - Using Solidcam to produce cutting paths for components to produce the NC programme (60% of the role will be programming) - Using Vericut to verify the cutting path and programme before producing the parts. - Establishing manufacturing routes and methods for new products. - Liaising with tooling engineers for new product introduction to establish and specify tooling requirements. - Establishing manufacturing routes and methods for components being moved from old to new multi axis milling and turning machinery. - Looking at components not being manufactured correctly, problem solving and establishing new NC programmes and manufacturing methods for them. - Parts are all being milled and turned from exotic metals. The Candidate To be successful in your application for Manufacturing Engineer (CAD/CAM), you will need: - Experience in the use of Catia or Solidworks. - Experience in Computer Aided manufacturing. - Experienced in producing NC Programmes.
