Our client is a leading British manufacturer of high quality contract furniture for the hospitality and leisure industry.For over 30 years they have been passionate about producing stunning furniture and have successfully built up many long-term relationships with clients in the UK and as far as the USA and Middle East. They combine craftsmanship, reliability, industry knowledge and, above all, a commitment to deliver a tailored solution to meet customer needs. They oversee projects from concept through to completion, including design, sourcing materials and managing the set up in the venue andproduce furniture to the highest of standards. They have a diverse product range including classic, traditional and contemporary furniture, and they now have a vacancy for a Health & Safety Officer to join their team.

The main objective of this role is to manage all Health & Safety aspects of the business and to ensure Health & Safety policies are communicated and fully implemented.The key responsibilities are creating H& S documentation, continual monitoring/reviewing of safety systems and creation of H&S documentation as needed for onsite works and client approval.You will keep up to date with legislation, regulations and best practice with a view to identify any necessary actions.You will also ensure contractors are working safely, obtain permits, conduct regular Safety Committee meetings and conduct inductions for new members of the workforce at all levels.

This role plays a key part in the business therefore previous experience in a similar role is essential including proven qualifications in a range of H&S related topics.To be shortlisted for this role you must have at least 2 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role preferably in a production / manufacturing environment with knowledge of all aspects of Health & Safety processes and procedures.You’ll need great people and communication skills with the ability to use your own initiative and to work calmly and effectively in a challenging & pressured environment.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing company who are market leaders in their industry.
