We have a fantastic opportunity for a Head of IT and Change to join a leading organisation in their joint venture based in Stoke-on-Trent.

The client is a well-established leader in Energy and Utilities having joined forces with 2 of the leading figures in the industry. They specialise in account management and efficiency advice for business customers across the UK. The role offers the chance for the right individual on a permanent basis.

Acting as a member of the leadership team, with responsibility for overseeing all technology operations and transformative change. You will be responsible for the implementation of new IT systems, policies, security and change portfolio. The Head of IT and Change will ensure IT systems and people are effective and functioning within the limits if the budget, time and specification.


  • Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of all IT systems
  • Provide expertise and support during systems upgrades, installations of new systems with existing systems
  • Oversee systems development and enhancement
  • Work with employees and suppliers to develop strategies and plans to enhance customer services and improve effectiveness
  • Communicate regularly with executive management
  • Manage IT and change employees, including hiring, training, evaluation, guidance, discipline and discharge
  • Develop the IT and Change team to meet the changing need of user and system manuals
  • Keep current with the latest technologies and determine what new technology solutions and implementations will meet business and system requirements
  • Manage financial aspects of the IT and Change teams
  • Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures
  • Manage portfolio of Change
  • Negotiate and administer vendor and consultant contract agreements
  • Work with Stakeholders to proactively solve conflict situations through problem-solving, negotiation and direct influencing
  • Establish close working relationships with Finance to ensure accurate tracking
  • Work closely with business areas to identify trends in issues and solutions

Skills, Knowledge and Behaviour

  • Capable of developing and leading IT and Change strategies
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Proven experience as Senior IT/Programme Management
  • Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems
  • Experienced in IT policy creation and management
  • Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc
  • Experience in controlling budgets
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills
  • Previous experience of developing transformation and change strategies
