The role requires an experienced hands-on network/security engineer/consultant who will be able to work as a subject matter expert within a Customer led project team setup to progress a range of security related improvements to the existing Customer network. Key tasks: - Act as the first point of contact for detailed information on the managed network and security components. - Providing expert support to the Customer IT infrastructure team in the analysis of existing infrastructure with a view to identifying specific weaknesses and identifying potential solutions. - Be able to contribute to the design of the overall security architecture reducing risk of compromise through the introduction of enhanced security technologies like IPS/IDS. - Preparation of network and security infrastructure documentation using appropriate tools (e.g. Visio). - Support the deployment and test of new network and security infrastructure components. Experience Required: - Experience working within large corporate grade network deployments including hands-on familiarity with routers, switches, WAP, MPLS, etc. Cisco technology preferred. - Technical expertise with a range of industry recognised network and security vendors, for example, Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Bluecoat, F5 (LTM & GTM), FirePower/Sourcefire. - Experience with building, maintaining, reviewing all configs/settings/policies on chosen technologies - Excellent documentation skills - Excellent troubleshooting skills (technical and non-technical) - Experience participating in network & system security projects to provide: - Business requirements analysis and support for Solutions Architects - Production of detailed infrastructure designs including physical and virtual aspects of security components Premier are acting as an employment agency
