PepsiCo is looking for a Shift Technician to join our busy manufacturing team, based in Coventry.

The factory in Coventry is our biggest snacks manufacturing site in the UK, producing a number of well-known brands including Doritos, SunBites, Squares, French Fries, Wotsits and Monster Munch. It is a multi-technology plant with significant automation and is home to around 650 of our team.

What you'll get up to:

  • Carry out planned and preventative maintenance using mechanical and electrical skill set
  • Develop proactive fault prevention and continuous improvement activity
  • Operate in accordance with the site environmental management system
  • Coach front line employees on equipment best Support/lead project initiatives in plant
  • Provide engineering leadership to the shift when required
  • Participate in longer term technical development for the plant
  • Proactively develop improvement opportunities and productivity ideas
  • Search for and drive the development of solutions to problems
  • Support the site with engineering expertise, leading frontline employees and production line knowledge
  • Review product quality information and take appropriate actions to make improvements

What we're looking for:

  • Electrical qualification and experience
  • Level 3 electrical competency standard
  • Proven record of electrical maintenance
  • Experienced in PLC control equipment and SCADA systems
  • A proven record of diagnosing complex control systems issues
Experienced in high volume, continuous production environment with PLC, pneumatic control and a high mechanical aptitudeCapable of fault finding and problem solving (advanced) - PLC levelBasic welding skills preferred but not essentialProven record in using structured problem solving techniques such as APS, 5Why or similar.Active in Lean culture QCDM, GEMBA as applicable to their current role

  • Sets high personal standards for quality of work and level of service provided
