About the role
You'll start with 6-weeks of training - on and off the job. Then you'll be well prepared to take calls from customers about anything and everything to do with billing - they could be worried about water usage, moving to a new address or perhaps they need their bill in a different format... It's a fun, fast-moving environment where we recognise a job well done and, as our people will tell you, it feels good to represent a company that provides such a vitally important service. Unlike some contact centre jobs, there's no pressure to sell. All you need to do is to provide a positive and accurate service - one that represents Severn Trent Water at its very best.

About you
You've ideally worked in a people-focused role before but we don't insist on contact centre experience. We look for people who are good listeners with strong attention to detail - you need to absorb what customers tell you and then provide the right information. Most of the time you'll be taking calls, but there's some 'tying up' work too - you'll need to be comfortable using a computer, for example to log call details or send an email. You'll need to be prepared to work shifts any time between 8.00am and 9.00pm Monday to Friday (Inc. bank holidays) and 8.00am to 5.30pm on a scheduled Saturday. We do our best to be fair and flexible when we share out shifts so if you do work a Saturday you will have two consecutive days off the following week. You must possess GCSE's grades C and above or equivalent in Maths and English.
