SF Group are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant on an initial 6-9 month contract for a business based in Burton. The Accounts Assistant will be joining an entrepreneurial and growing SME business based in South Derbyshire with an international presence.

The successful Accounts Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Running accounts from entry level to trial balance
  • Accounts payable invoice entry
  • Reconciliation to purchase order receipts
  • Supplier statement reconciliation
  • Control of AR and ensuring timely receipts from Customers, including reminders
  • Recording and processing documents relating to intercompany transactions
  • Dealing with inventory issues
  • Inventory management and reconciliation
  • Working within CCM for Corporate updates on Customer accounts along with monitoring.
  • Month end journal preparation
  • Accrual preparation and reconciliation
  • Prepayment preparation and reconciliation
  • VAT preparation and reconciliation
  • EC Sales and Intrastat preparation and reconciliation
  • Reconciliation of the GL
  • To assist with the preparation of the year end reports required for external audit purposes

To be considered for this role it is essential that you have the following skills and experience:

  • Strong experience in Excel
  • Experience in working within accounting department
  • Strong understanding of accounting practices
  • Previous experience working with projects desirable not essential
  • VAT/Intrastat and EU Sales preparation and processing experience
  • Able to work on their own initiative
