Job summary

Provide clear leadership and direction, day-to-day for all Pugh & Sanders DCD warehouse activity. Ensure that individual team members are appropriately supported and resourced to deliver efficient and effective warehouse operations. Manage communications and the flow of information to and from the team so that individuals are kept informed of key tasks and business priorities. Regularly communicating with the management team.

Overall scope

Based at Pugh & Sanders Distribution Centre - Derby. A key member of the team, working closely with and reporting into Derby Site Supervisor. Responsible for the effective distribution of goods and administration of inventory. DCD warehouse team of 5 full time staff - Motivating DCD warehouse team members is key.

Key responsibilities

 Manage Goods Inwards, accurately booking on Purchase Orders and Labelling incoming stock.
 Picking Sales Orders and allocating picking duties to the team, including Trade Counter sales.
 Releasing Sales Orders and processing Delivery Notes. Aiming to achieve efficient distribution and utilising company vehicles. Ensuring customer orders are delivered on time and signing off key customer deliveries where necessary.
 Maintaining the flow of key warehouse activity - Vendor Managed Inventory & Kitting
 Vendor Managed Inventory (Customer Stocks) is key to this role. Ensuring all stock check & replenishment appointments are complete on time. Stock Orders are picked and ready for despatch. Inventory levels are maintained and organised to support this activity.
 Inventory Management. An awareness for inventory valuation is key. Support accurate stock records and proactively update stock records ongoing. Daily Stock Transfers and Cycle Counting is paramount.
 Neat, tidy and organised stock on shelving, aiming to Label every Stock Keeping Unit with Item Number and Description.
 Identify opportunities to improve workflow and enhance operational efficiency
 Demonstrate leadership qualities day to day, engaging positively with colleagues and motivating team members. Allocating tasks effectively and ensuring team members are working throughout the day.

General responsibilities

 Manage incoming and outgoing orders efficiently and effectively
 Processing Goods Receipts and Delivery Notes daily
 Processing and interrogating stock transactions. Identify opportunities to update stock records ongoing.
 Support for various project activity including Stock Locations
 Supporting Work in Progress (WIP) and sub-contracted third-party processes
 Picking up emails and responding in a timely and professional manor
 Support to Head Office as required Skills and qualifications
 Excellent communications & Leadership skills
 Experience in a leadership role favourable. Otherwise an ability to demonstrate leadership qualities.
 Logical / methodical approach to warehouse operations
 Organisation, individual initiative, flexibility and time management
 Competent using Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint
 Experience with stock & accounting software such as SAP or SAGE favourable
 Computer literate and can solve basic IT issues  GCSE’s Grade A*-C Maths & English  Further education favourable (A-Level, NVQ, Higher Education)
