An exciting oppourtunity has become available in our Head Office, based in Stafford. We are seeking a Financial Accountant, who will take responsibility for specific areas of the business to support the Finance and CT Manager and Regional Financial Controllers in ensuring the production of management accounts to tight deadlines. To support the maintenance of high standards of financial control through utilisation of robust systems and processes as directed and thus to ensure that the team and individual objectives are achieved.

THE ROLE: Business delivery for area of responsibility:

• Preparing and posting monthly prepayments and cost accruals to specified time scales.
• Timely preparation and posting various accounting entries for your specific regions.
• Preparation and posting income accruals and deferrals as required and to specified time scales.
• Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations each month and presentation to the Finance & CT Manager for review as required.
• Taking remedial actions as required in a timely manner and in consultation with the Finance & CT Manager.
• Processing interfaces from other systems into Agresso (our accounting system) as required and to a specified schedule.
• Monitoring fixed asset additions and disposals to maintain consistency in capitalising costs and to ensure depreciation is correctly accounted for to company policies.
• Inputting journals prepared by the Regional Finance Controllers within operations as requested and to tight deadlines.
• Checking documentation for correct authorisation, querying / processing payments via online banking and bacs systems, or taking responsibility for administration of the banking systems as required.
• Demonstrates a personable, positive and flexible approach and follows processes and procedures as set out by the Finance and CT Manager.
• Effectively communicates in all areas, particularly, highlighting issues to the Finance and CT Manager/ RFC’s in a timely manner.
• In all areas of the job, demonstrates high standards of functional and business behaviour.
• Assist in preparation for annual statutory audit.
• Assisting with preparation of financial information as required by the Finance & CT Manager.
