Sales Manager - Materials Testing

This global player in the world of specialist materials testing, suppling high integrity test data to the Aerospace, Power Generation, Nuclear, Chemical, Automotive and Manufacturing Industries, from some of the best equipped laboratories in the world, now seeks to recruit an experienced sales manager. Role Outline:

  • Manage all aspects of sales of contract testing services, directly responsible for sales to specified major accounts
  • Identifies, develops and generates sales specific to key industries
  • Achieves sales targets as agreed with Director of Sales
  • Maintains detailed knowledge of product portfolio and capabilities. Keeps abreast of competitor activity, market trends and customer requirements
  • Maintains close liaison with distributors and agents in assigned territories
  • Develops a robust business plan; identifying short, medium and long term sales opportunities
  • Manages overall sales activity leading up to order placement, including negotiation of prices, deliveries and key terms
  • Monitors and reports on sales activities
  • Office based but with travel to customer sites in the UK, Europe and further afield as required

Applicant Requirements:

  • Ideally degree educated (HND/HNC level as a minimum)
  • Previous experience in a professional sales role within Material testing or related field
  • Previous export sales experience advantageous
  • Capable to operate in a highly technical market area, previous experience of Aerospace, Oil and Gas, Automotive, Petrochemical or Metals/Materials advantageous
  • Strong negotiating and closing skills
  • Customer focused - self reliant, flexible and resourceful

PACKAGE: Competitive salary (negotiable based on experience) + car allowance, BUPA, quarterly bonuses, pension scheme, life insurance, 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
