We are currently recruiting for a full time Driver Trainer Instructor as part of our Learning & Development HR team based out of Ryton on Dunsmore, Head Office.
The role involves :
To provide quality learning and development support including LGV and company car driving assessment, instruction and CPC training delivery. To set up, assess and uphold the standards in driving safety, in all aspect of being a UK Mail LGV or company car driver.
To design, develop and deliver Driver CPC modules as per JAUPT guidelines and ensure all LGV drivers are DSA registered on completion. To undertake pre-employment driver assessments, driver induction, and periodic assessments and make appropriate written recommendations as required. To undertake agency driver assessment and driver inductions as required, and escalate recommendations on any driver findings, ensuring evidence is provided to the Head of Line Haul and Transport, and Learning and Development Manager, and be responsible for any remedial action advised within job scope.
To ensure that all assessment and subsequent retraining is recorded on the training records for Learning and Development, and provide refresher training for LGV license holders as required. To supervise LGV drivers on vehicle checks and maintenance, if applicable, in order to comply with UK Mail policies and procedures and to ensure best practice at all times. To undertake post-accident or incident LGV and company car driving assessments.
To follow and abide by the company driving standards and generic driver assessment process recognised by external bodies, and facilitate the ongoing monitoring of the assessment and evaluation of driving standards. To design and provide Instruction both practical and theoretical on LGV driving courses in accordance with legislation and company guidelines
To assist with the practical responsibility for health and safety issues affecting company drivers and provide guidance on UK Mail health and safety policies in relation to driver training standards, and undertake all aspects of training for drivers as and when required. To ensure that all driver assessments are complete for high risk drivers and review driver telematics and driver camera information and act on high risk driver results.
DSA Training qualification and I or Advanced Driving Qualification (or equivalent)
Full, clean driving licence and ability to travel.
Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
- LGV license holder l
- Full Clean driving license
- DSA Training qualification and I or Advanced Driving Qualification (or equivalent)
- Ability ·to travel to all UK Mail sites
- DVSA LGV Instructor
- Driver CPC qualified
- NVQ Level 3 Instructor I R.O.S:P. A Assessor Award
- Advanced Driving Qualification (or equivalent)
- Safe and Fuel Efficient Driving (SAFED) Instructor
- City and Guilds Level 4 Preparation to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector. (PTLLS)
- Institute of Advanced Motorists Advanced Driving Test (LGV)
- Fork Lift Truck Instructor
- Counter Balance Lift Truck Operator
- Electric Pallet Truck Operator
- Electric Ride On Pallet Truck Operator
- Reach Lift Truck Operator
