Carillion Telent Joint Venture is dedicated to providing and transforming the way support is delivered to Openreach. The contract entails the delivery of civil engineering support to Openreach, which is part of the BT Group but is operated as a separate business and was launched in 2006. Openreach provides the nation’s local access network for telecommunications.

We service, support and maintain the wiring, fibres and connections which link millions of homes and businesses throughout the UK to their Communications Providers’ networks.

Being a part of the Carillion Telent joint venture team is an excellent opportunity to get in on ground breaking business working with BT Openreach and their client the UK government, to help deliver the biggest and fastest broadband upgrade in the world “keeping the nation connected”.

As Business Manager for Carilliontelent you will report into the Regional Director and be responsible for ensuring the business unit is run effectively.

You will be responsible for:

  • Ensure that a revenue growth plan is in place to increase revenue month on month and working with the team to unlock the workstack to maximise revenue and margin in year

  • Set revenue targets by product, region and supplier to drive up revenue and margin working with the finance and commercial teams

  • Ensure cost control is in place across the business unit following the new Ct guidelines and show a month on month improvement in the region

  • Work with the PMO, Control and Project Managers to ensure the business works together to deliver the business results

  • To act as a deputy to the Regional Director to ensure that the business critical programmes are delivered by the team to the client (including DSLAM and ILC Programmes in particular)

  • Own Status X across the region to drive cash collection

  • Any jobs that are stuck in Status K that are over 50 days that are work in progress are progressed for part payment to ensure cash collection

  • Ensure that Connect and Ct Mobile is implemented effectively in the region to drive efficiencies

  • Act as the lead for the mobilisation of new clients in the region as part of Ct’s work winning strategy
