The Client Our client seeking an experienced Project Director/Project Management professional to join our Industry business. The role involves accountability for the safety, quality and financial performance of all proposals and projects assigned. Projects typically operate within the Pharmaceutical, Chemical and Fibers sectors although the opportunity to manage projects within other industrial sectors (e.g. Food, Oil & Gas) is possible. Projects operate throughout their entire lifecycle from delivery of concept and front-end studies through to large scale Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCm) type projects. The Role A typical working week would include tasks such as: - Effectively leading and managing multi-discipline task force teams - Building and maintaining positive working relationships with all project stakeholders - Developing effective project strategy and execution plans - Clearly communicating project requirements (scope / objectives / deliverables etc.) - Producing project quality and co-ordination procedures - Creating proposal / study documents including time / cost estimates (Fee / Cost of Works) - Developing robust plans using best practise project management techniques (WBS, GANNT etc.) - Producing realistic resource and financial forecasts - Monitoring project productivity including earned value analysis Experience Required We would be interested hearing from candidates with the following attributes: - A successful track record in industrial project management - Good working knowledge of project management tools and techniques - Experience in one or more of the business streams core sectors (Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, Fibres). - Proven ability to manage and co-ordinate design, engineering, procurement and construction management teams - Commercial awareness and understanding of model form contracts (e.g. IChemE) Additional Information The role will be based in Birmingham, Manchester or London; however, you may be required to work away from home on occasion in addition to carrying out site visits primarily in the UK and Europe as necessary.
