Senior Analytical Chemist - GC-MS - ICP - IR - Materials - Permanent - Shropshire - £.Comp + Benefits

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Analytical Chemist to organisation that is recognised worldwide as a centre of excellence in materials testing. As a Senior Analytical Chemist you will be required to carry out testing on medical device packaging materials to provide high quality data reports. To be successful you must possess recent, relevant experience using analytical instrumentation including GC-MS, LC-MS and ICP.

Senior Analytical Chemist Responsibilities:

*Understand and determine customer requirements (both internal and external) and assist in the preparation of work proposals, study plans, etc.
*Deliver appropriate communication and project updates to project managers, as required.
*Plan and execute complex projects utilising multiple analytical techniques with minimal supervision.
*Produce high quality data and reports for customers (both internal and external) in an accurate and timely manner.
*Provide effective communication and disseminate key information to build and maintain customer/supplier relationships
*Keep abreast of current scientific advancements relevant to the business and expand knowledge base of analytical chemistry. Disseminate this knowledge as required.
*Provide an effective analytical testing service to external and internal customers by the application of expertise and problem solving skills.
*Be instrumental in project planning and implementation.
*Provide efficient organisation of equipment resources.
*Ensure maintenance of specified equipment.
*Provide training and development for junior colleagues.
*Provide advanced technical expertise.
Senior Analytical Chemist Skills & Requirements:

*Educated to a degree level in a chemistry or closely related discipline.
*Extensive experience with practical Analytical Techniques: GPC, LC-MS, GC-MS, ICP & IR.
*Must possess a firm understanding of the application of quality systems to analytical chemistry
*Excellent problem solving skills.
*Excellent attention to detail.
*Must be self-motivated, with a desire to assist other members of staff and customers
*Familiar with MS Word and Excel.
