UTC is a global leader in aerospace and defence. There are few - if any - aircraft around which don't have our equipment in them somewhere. We are presently looking to appoint an Electronics Engineer to work as part of our diverse Engineering team. This is a great opportunity to join a well-established organisation located very near to Birmingham Airport. Job Description: Based at the UTAS Maintenance Repair and Overhaul UK facility Marston Green, providing specialist Technical support for Electronic Engine Control units used in the Aerospace Industry. Key activities: Produce and control detailed investigation plans/activities to investigate Electronic Engine Control units removed from service Produce detailed Investigation reports correlating in-service failures of Electronic Engine Control units with MRO findings, identifying accurately potential failure modes, where applicable root cause of failure and remedial action Produce and/or Maintain Technical documentation controlling Repair, Test and Diagnostic processes Provide Engineering support to repair Technicians to support diagnostic's to component level Develop Diagnostic tools to support resolution of Test failures Provide Training to Technicians on use of diagnostic tools Manage the introduction of change into the business Provide Technical support to customers and Original Equipment Manufacturer Provide Technical support to all internal functional areas of the business where required Provide Technical Support to Engine Control Services Worldwide repair network Management of component obsolescence Support cost reduction and continuous improvement of repair processes Comply with the EH&S Policies and applicable regulatory requirements Experience: Qualified to HNC/HND/Degree Level in Electronic Engineering or relevant experience Experience of Analogue and Digital Electronics design Experience in the Aerospace or similar industry Knowledge of Aircraft and Engine Systems Experience of Automated and Functional Test equipment Proven problem solving and analytical skills Ability to identify problems and implement practical solutions Personal Attributes: Meticulous attention to detail and a methodical approach to work Ability to cope with new and changing demands Ability to deal with ambiguity Good communication and interpersonal skills ** Due to the anticipated high volume of applications, please assume you have not been successful if you have not heard within 4 weeks **
