Role: Diesel Systems Engineer Location: Coventry, Warwickshire Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 (dependent on proven ability) + bonus + car allowance + excellent bens Global product leader supplying the highest quality automotive components and systems for all the major global car manufacturers and the aftermarket is seeking a Diesel Systems Engineer to support continued expansion. At the Coventry site, my client has specialist teams focusing on powertrain, infotainment and safety systems, thermal systems and rotating machines for a variety of automotive and off-highway manufacturers. Role/Responsibilities This position will offer you the opportunity to provide engineering support on common rail diesel projects within Europe. You will be involved in developing the hardware specification, providing engine application support, including FIE calibration and validation. This will involve discussion with our customers, our manufacturing sites and the engineering division. You will also be involved in supporting the component engineering validation projects. Requirements You will typically have a passion for technical products and are likely to have a degree in engineering or comparable education with a focus on automotive or mechanical engineering. Candidates with some experience of working in the automotive field on either gasoline or diesel engines will be particularly attractive to us, as will experience of working in an engineering environment. Knowledge of CAD/CAE, calibration tools and Matlab, Simulink or similar are also desirable. You will be comfortable working either independently or in teams and will demonstrate strong communication and negotiation skills. In this role you will be expected to support test work with the OEM in the UK and overseas, also to undertake short periods of overseas business travel.
