Software Engineer - Commissioning - Control Systems £25,000- £30,000 + Benefits Location: Staffordshire Permanent Position I have an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer to join a successful and growing engineering business based in Staffordshire. This company specialise in the development of bespoke equipment and instrumentation supplied to the Gas, Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industries worldwide. The company are going through a strong period of growth in response to the successful development of new product ranges and have recently had significant investment with ambitious plans for further growth over the next few years. Working in collaboration with a multidiscipline engineering team the position will cover complete system development of PLC-based control Systems. It will involve design, documentation, development, testing and commissioning seeing projects from initial design through to customer site acceptance. Key Responsibilities: - The design, documentation, development, testing and commissioning of PLC-based control systems - This will cover the complete system development lifecycle from initial design through to customer site acceptance - Undertake on-site commissioning - Investigation and rectification of defects at customer's sites Skills and Background Required: - Knowledge of IE61131-3 programming languages. - Experience of the complete software/systems design lifecycle. - Experience of PLC programming languages. - Knowledge of computer operating systems. - Knowledge of network / serial communications protocols and hardware. - Knowledge of Control & Instrumentation Engineering. - Knowledge of process control principles. - Knowledge of serial communications protocols and hardware. - Knowledge of web based programming technologies such as HTML, PHP (Laravel) or JavaScript is desirable Qualification Requirements: - A Degree, HND, HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline is essential This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and successful business that are at the forefront of developing cutting edge products that offer the opportunity of an enjoyable and exciting career in a growing company.
