The opening of a new office in Birmingham has prompted the search for TWO Trainee Business Development Managers to join a growing financial services company which is part of a large, well-established and respected financial services Group.

These new openings provide the perfect opportunity for two ambitious and business focussed individuals to work in a professional B2B environment, learning how to acquire new business, manage client accounts and handle a variety of sales-related administrative tasks to develop the skills and experience to move into a full Business Development Manager role in the future.

Working with a team of asset finance and leasing specialists, you will be responsible for calling prospective clients in the professional services sector (such as Dentists, Doctors, Vets and Opticians) to determine a need for business funding, including business loans, asset finance and leasing options. Using careful questioning techniques to understand the clients’ requirements, you will be capturing relevant company data, arranging follow-up calls, responding to enquiries and arranging appointments for BDMs to discuss finance options with the client in order to close the sale.

The job is challenging, though very rewarding; you will be managing a high call out volume on a daily basis and will be kept busy with a whole cycle of activities, such as handling sales proposals, data collection, marketing by email and by post and general support of the senior team and the client base. The rewards are generous; you will be paid a bonus per qualified lead as well as a percentage of the sale once the lead is completed by the BDM - and the percentage increases once your figures surpass your KPIs. This company believes in encouraging its sales team to work smartly, so your monthly bonuses and commissions areuncapped, i.e., the more you achieve, the better the financial rewards!

Whilst a positive and highly driven attitude is the most important personal quality my client is looking for, suitable candidates will most certainly have some proven experience gained in a sales environment (be that business-to-business or business-to-consumer) and a demonstrable understanding that hard work produces positive results. As the job entails extensive telephone-based activity, we’re looking for clearly spoken and enthusiastic communication skills as well as an engaging and confident manner.
