REED Human Resources is currently working with a successful social enterprise to recruit a Safety & Wellbeing Advisor to join the team on a 12 month contractual basis.

The successful candidate will provide a safety and wellbeing monitoring and advice service. To ensure policies, procedures and regulatory requirements are being adhered to and followed. You will continually seek improvements in safety and compliance in line with legislation.

• You'll support the Safety and Wellbeing Manager to deliver and develop an exceptional service to the business.
• Monitor compliance with safety procedures, policies, risk assessments and legislation.
•Advise, support and assist on CDM requirements, especially supporting colleagues with the completion of Principal Designer duties.
• Assess and review contractor safety submissions during their selection process and ongoing use.
• Attend contractor performance meetings and contribute to the meeting.
• Focus on key risk areas especially within our asset management teams.
• Complete a targeted number of safety inspections across the business areas and report findings.
• Advise and contribute in the completion of risk assessments and method statements based on the requirements of the business.
• Working alongside the safety and wellbeing manager and allocated business area managers to seek improvements in safety performance and standards.
• Develop and deliver safety and wellbeing related training and information through various media and techniques.
• Identify health surveillance requirements and make arrangements with providers for this to be delivered where necessary.
• Assist in policy, procedure and other document reviews.
• Check, review and amend method statements and safe systems of work as required.
• Review, investigate and follow up colleagues and third party accidents and near misses.
• Be a team player with a great positive attitude and live our DNA
• Search for ways to improve the services we deliver by thinking creatively and sharing good practice with my colleagues

The successful candidate will have the following;

• NEBOSH construction certificate
• A Diploma in Occupational Safety would be desirable
• A good working knowledge of the Construction (design and management) regulations 2015.
• Experience of auditing and inspection techniques.
• Responsibility for delivering a highly specialised service to the highest standards
• A technical specialist managing my own time and resources with a detailed understanding of how my business area works
• Advise on the legal or technical aspect of my service and keep up to date with new legislation and regulation
