An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Dementia Advisor to join Making Space, a not-for-profit care provider to cover the Derby City area. In return we offer a competitive salary of £9.18 per hour.
Making Space provide services in the heart of local communities, in the comfort of people's own homes, and specialist care and support services. Our professional, caring employees and volunteers deliver our services with dignity, respect and compassion, focusing on outcomes that help the people we support has the freedom to enjoy an everyday life.
With responsibility for providing advice and support for carers and people living with dementia, you will promote the provision for carers and service users in line with current national objectives. You will train and supervise volunteers and work in partnership with external agencies to promote the befriending service, ensuring it meets the needs of the individual and the locality.

Experience of working with people who experience mental ill health and / or carers is essential, along with excellent communication skills and an Diploma Level 2 in Health and Social Care or the willingness to work towards. The successful post holder will also demonstrate the 'Six Cs’ - care, compassion, competence, communication, courage and commitment.

Working hours are 35 per week.

Having your own mode of transport is essential.

The successful candidate must have worked in Dementia or is willing to learn.
