IT Technician-Join team of 5, large well-established, successful national company
My client is searching for an additional member of staff to join their successful IT service desk team of five already in place. Reporting to the IT Service Desk Co-ordinator/Manager.

A minimum six months-1 year working in 1st line support is ESSENTIAL, with some 2nd line resolution experience carried out. Priority will be given to 2nd/3rd line proven working experience candidates as this role is an active IT support role covering everything from 1st/2nd/3rd line as part of a team - not a full time sit down helpdesk role.
This is a varied and interesting role supporting branches nationwide, internal head office support [ where you will be permanently located ], and field based teams.
Such support will include : - Logging, managing, investigating, diagnosis, resolution and escalation of tickets accross...
- PC/ Laptop/Networking hardware
- Core office applications
- Hand-held devices [working with external service providers]
- Company infrastructure [working with external service providers]
- Ad hoc projects as a team
Excellent customer service skills and SL response time experience together with a strong team ethos, flexible approach and a willingness to learn and become an integral part of this essential team would be the assets to make a successful candidate.
Educated to minimum BTEC National Diploma for IT Practitioners (or equivalent) highly desirable - or 5 years experience in a 2nd/3rd line role able to demonstrate your experience will be considered.
An distinct advantage would be someone who has DOS experience and an understanding of ITIL principles, possibly logistics industry and experience of working with hand-held devices....!
It is essential you hold a full driving license and have use of a car, due to shift rota patterns.
Hours of work are on a shift rota: rolling week by week:-
6am-2pm, 9am-5pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am - based at head office.
1 in 5 Saturdays working from home - on call 6am to 12 noon. - this is paid overtime.
A FULL 10 WEEK INDUCTION AND TRAINING ON COMPANY SYSTEMS IS IN PLACE AND READY TO ROLL OUT FOR THE RIGHT CANDIDATE.
In return a good working environment with a support team, 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension scheme, overtime paid. Circa salary 23-25K depending upon experience.
