Further to a successful campaign of business growth, we are working closely with one of our manufacturing partners to appoint an experience Production / Manufacturing Engineer. EXPIRES 10/11/2017

Job Overview: The role of the Production / Manufacturing Engineer requires the preparation and process designs for new product/process introduction, liaising with the research and development department to ensure the company is at the forefront of ground breaking research and Participate in factory layout changes to facilitate capacity increase or operational improvement. The successful candidate should have knowledge of CNC machining / plastic injection moulding be self-motivated and have strong leadership skills.

Ideally the candidate will have an Engineering Degree and have excellent communication and influencing skills.

Position Purpose:
You will be responsible for planning, designing, setting up, modifying, optimising and monitoring manufacturing processes.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Prepare process designs for new product/process introduction including design and procurement of jigs, tooling and where necessary capital equipment.
• Commercial implications of your decisions should be considered at all stages.
• Lead projects for new product/process introduction into manufacturing to ensure all project requirements are achieved.
• Examining and tendering for new equipment to ensure the highest quality at the best price
• Liaising with the research and development department to ensure the company is at the forefront of ground-breaking research;
• Monitor and analyse current manufacturing methods to create improvements including;
o yield improvements (scrap reduction)
o process designs to prevent quality concerns
• Engage in creative problem solving to address operational issues.
• Participate in factory layout changes to facilitate capacity increase or operational improvement
• Keeping up to date with current and developing trends in the manufacturing industry, at a national and international level

Skills / Knowledge
• Excellent planning and organising capabilities
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of CNC machining / plastic injection moulding / rapid prototyping or similar process an advantage
• Independent, dependable, resourceful and self-motivated
• Strong leadership skills
• Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
• Ability to work well with all functional work groups within the company
• Attention to detail is a must
• Computer literate - Microsoft Packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Qualifications / experience / qualities:
• An Engineering Degree or equivalent experience
• Successful experience of managing projects
• Able to work to deadlines and overcome barriers to ensure targets are achieved
• Excellent communication and influencing skills
• Previous experience in a manufacturing / engineering environment essential
• Experience of implementing Kaizen methods
