Network Field Engineer

Remit
The network field engineer will provide onsite technical hands-on management of project mobilisations.
You will also offer technical support and assistance to newly mobilised projects - customer facing \ telephone.
You will be a field based network engineer dealing with connectivity and network hardware issues on BAU remote sites, and you will provide 3rd line technical infrastructure support to the business.

Job pre-Requisites
The role requires a comprehensive understanding of the following technologies:
• Cisco based routers, firewalls and switches and other related hardware. A CCNA or higher qualification is highly desirable.
• Network topologies, other 3rd party routers, switching, firewalls, Wi-Fi and Wan optimisation devices.
• Installation of rack mounted equipment, patching, cat5e/6 Ethernet and fibre cabling.
• Administering and troubleshooting Microsoft desktop operating systems, desktop applications and PC hardware troubleshooting.
• Installation and configuration of server hardware, network storage, and other adhoc hardware used on site Projects.
• Server based technologies including and understanding of Active Directory management, security policy management and desktop deployment technologies.
• Cisco ISE experience would be beneficial.

Other duties
• Setup and configuration of audio visual equipment,
• Full site documentation of setup and configuration,
• Site health checks,
• Site upgrade recommendations,
• MDM management.

Non-technical skills
Extensive travel, mainly anywhere north of Birmingham, but could include all areas of the UK - Full UK driving licence.
Manage and instruct 3rd party engineers to perform support \ mobilisation duties.
When not assigned to field based duties you will be expected to offer technical support for day to day infrastructure operations issues including 3rd line technical support where applicable. An ability to problem solve, work under pressure and manage your time effectively is essential.
