22.5 hours per week

Salary circa GBP37,000 per annum pro rata(dependant on experience) + additional benefits

Please note there is an opportunity to work at another site in Leek, Staffordshire to make a full time position but MUST be able to travel.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 7 Psychologist , who has a Postgraduate qualification in clinical (or other applied) Psychology and their HCPC Registration, to join us on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Consultant Psychologist and working under the supervision of the Hospital Managers, you will be expected to support and enhance the psychological care of the patients at Phoenix House; which provides a specialist pathway of services for men with complex mental health issues such as schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder or depression and associated conditions including; substance misuse and personality disorder.

Phoenix House is able to accept men detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) including Restriction Orders and also those who are informal.

You will need to:
•Undertake psychological assessments of service users by applying psychological, including neuropsychological, tests, self report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi- structured interviews with service users, family members and others involved in the service users care
•Assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a service users problems
•Develop and deliver appropriate therapeutic group interventions
•Provide tailored 1:1 intervention to service users not suitable for group work
•Work with other staff to assess service users and review their care in preparation for multi-disciplinary reviews
•Provide summaries of progress/intervention/risk assessments where appropriate for MDT's in advance of the meetings
•Assist in the development of a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all service users within the hospital

Newly qualified, chartered, registered psychologists will be considered.
