Role Profile

To be the product champion for telent's range of Cloud Services, taking business ownership for the delivery and management of a range of Cloud Services including both Infrastructure & Applications as a managed service. Work with all stakeholder groups across telent to ensure the successful introduction and on-going commercial success of the Cloud Servics portfolio.

Define the value proposition for the range of Cloud Services and clearly articulate this with reference to target customer segments and the various stakeholder roles within those segments. Ensure the value proposition is understood by telent stakeholders and is the core theme that runs through all sales, marketing and communication activity.

Ensure that suitable product plans, business plans, launch plans and operational plans are established for the Cloud Servics portfolio and work with relevant teams to ensure the successful execution of these plans. Providing leadership and clarity of target customer segments, solution proposition and defined feature set for the Cloud Servics portfolio.

As the product champion drive the success of the Cloud Servics portfolio, through timely product delivery, helping achieve target sales and be accountable for the performance of the solution, including P&L and customer satisfaction.

Typical Deliverables.

Analyse and understand customer requirements, market opportunity and competitive situation in order to identify and scope key target segments, including feature requirements, solution proposition and critical success factors for target segments. Use this insight to develop product plans for the Cloud Servics portfolio.

Work with all relevant teams and stakeholders across telent to ensure the successful development and coordinated introduction of the Cloud Servics portfolio using the company's product development process. Coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure that suitable operational plans, with supporting processes, are defined and implemented for the entire customer lifecycle.

Own, develop, gain approval and communicate an appropriate Business Plan to achieve the financial and business targets for the Cloud Servics portfolio, working with Marketing and Sales teams to execute the plan and drive business performance of the solution.

Establish a set of KPIs and metrics in order to monitor and report on all relevant elements of the solution's performance and use this information to provide regular reports and pro-actively manage the solution for success. This will require collaboration with a range of stakeholders to ensure tactical and strategic plans are implemented for the solution.

Monitor the performance of the solution, vendor developments, customer feedback, competitor activity and developments in the market to identify feature enhancements and future new development opportunities to enhance the competitive position for the Cloud Servics portfolio and increase the addressable market.

Where appropriate and in support of achieving sales targets, consider and build effective partnering relationships with third parties.
Review and support the sign off of major bids and customer proposals and also lead the product input to bids including proactive contributions to bid responses.

Identify and implement the training and collateral required by stakeholders such as sales and business operations.
Work with colleagues in finance to identify an accurate cost base for the Cloud Servics portfolio in order to price competitively and accurately establish product margins, business performance and maintain a P&L for the Cloud Servics portfolio.

Provide a source of product expertise and be able to articulate this in the context of developing new business. The role is primarily a product management / product marketing role, rather than technical expert role. A detailed understanding of customer needs, market dynamics and product benefits is essential, complimented by an understanding of the technical related elements of these products. A good knowledge of the underlying technical and supplier requirements is also important.

Work effectively across the business to support incremental sales and understand and resolve business issues, identifying and proactively seeking to obtain cost efficiencies and savings in order to maximise product opportunities and competitiveness.

Business Operations Skills:


* Previous experience in Product Management and / or development
* Strong pedigree in managing and/or delivering technology solutions for IT solutions, ideally with experience of cloud service and/or managed services.
* Excellent analytical, financial and forecasting skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills inside the business and with Customers
* Excellent presentation skills.
* Very strong influencing skills.
* PC literate (high level Microsoft Office Suite skills required inc. Excel, PowerPoint etc).


Relevant degree level qualification or equivalent level of industry experience.
