Mencap are currently recruiting Relief Support Workers to work in and around the Sheldon area!
The People we support
You will be providing support to people who are active and full of life and assisting them in their day to day tasks. We are looking for people who can understand the needs of the people we support and enable them to achieve their goals. All of our people have their very own unique traits and character which makes them special and a joy to work with. The people we support need help with personal care, medication, finances and with daily living skills.
Each and everyone that you will be supporting love a variety of activities including walks, theatre trips, bowling, flower arranging and going out for a curry…so you will need to be someone who enjoys being out and about…
We would also ask that you actively promote independence and involve the people you are supporting by giving them choices and including them in decisions about the activities that they take part in and encouraging them to try new things.

Although this is a relief position, we are looking for people who are flexible and can work during the week and on weekends. The general shift patterns include but not limited to 7:30am - 3pm, 2pm - 9:30pm and waking night shifts are from 9:00pm - 8:00am. Please note these shift patterns may differ slightly throughout the services, nevertheless this would always be communicated in a timely manner.
