This leading manufacturer of original equipment for the Automotive Industry, are recruiting NOW for a Operations Manager with strong managerial skills, technical ability and the ability to juggle priorities. This role is suitable for a junior Operations Manager looking for their next step or an Operations Manager from a smaller organisation looking to join a larger global company. You will have previous production / operations / management experience within a fast moving production environment, ideally Automotive/Aerospace/Pharmaceutical related. This is a days position and in return, they offer a salary of cGBP50K plus benefits including healthcare, pension, life assurance, subsidised facilities and 31 days holiday

Job Purpose:-

Leading and motivating a team of 200+ people across 3 shifts, striving for continuous improvements within your production area.

The Role:-

Responsible for the day to day management and co-ordination of production.
Support the planning team and prioritise production output to satisfy customers requirement.
Optimise the labour performance - focus on the delivery of 'Best in Class.
To ensure safe working practices are in place, documented and adhered to utilising PFMEAs, training, risk assessments and auditing of personnel.
Maintain and strive to improve housekeeping standards through the 5S approach.
To develop / improve manufacturing processes and quality control measures.
Initiating and driving through continuous improvement with cross functional teams ensuring Quality, Cost and Safety targets are met.
Costing / budget management to maintain cost effective production, reporting regularly to management team to achieve KPIs and functional objectives
To recruit staff as necessary, manage and appraise performance, providing training and encourage their development
Monitor working patterns and control staffing levels in line with customer demand
Work closely with Shift Leaders and Setters/Technicians to implement process improvements to injection moulding, eliminate waste and improve product flow.

The Suitable Candidate:-

Experienced Production Manager / Operations Manager, ideally from an Automotive, Aerospace or Pharmaceutical Manufacturing background, used to fast paced, challenging engineering environment
NEBSM (CMI) Level 3 or equivalent vocational management qualification(s) or qualified by experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High level of numerical and analytical ability
Computer literate - Microsoft Office Proven Presentation Skills.
Experience of Lean Management Techniques/ Kaizen
Use of project planning and management tools.
Thorough understanding in the use and application of business systems and processes (TS16949 & ISO 14001).
Motivate, involve and engage Associates to deliver departmental objectives.
Encourages team working and leads by example.
