We have had a fantastic opportunity become available for a Project Manager based in Whitley with some travel required, on an initial 30 week contract. A description of the role follows;

With responsibility for project managing the delivery of major Packaging Projects, the International Freight and Packaging Supervisor will play a vital role in delivering International Vehicle and Powertrain Programmes to support the company's plans for increased volume, product range and globalisation. Project manage service providers to develop innovative packaging solutions to optimize the supply chain for international vehicle and Powertrain programmes ensuring delivery against all programme milestones. Lead and coordinate special packaging developments, providing concept and physical prototypes for approval and securing group buy off for purchase and manufacture. Develop packaging strategies for shipping product overseas through data analysis, competitor bench marking and strategic packaging trials. Coordinate resolution of packaging issues providing containment and long term solutions. This includes leading 8D problem resolution and reporting progress though CCAR documents and AIM online tracking."

The candidate must have the relevant skills to be successful in the role ;

* Experience of delivering significant projects whilst achieving key milestones and managing risks within automotive logistics.
* Good analytical skills with the ability to interpret excel data sets, formulate business cases and provide detailed project status presentations.
* Must be able to demonstrate the ability to influence cross functional teams.

* Previous experience in Supply Chain Management preferably in the automotive sector.
* Engineering degree or equivalent experience preferred
* Experience and understanding of using SAP in the supply chain
* Experience or interest in developing packaging solutions for new manufacturing facilities
* Additional European language skills such as Slovakian would be an advantage.

The role is based in the UK, but there will be the need for some travel to other sites in the Midlands and occasional international travel depending on the project.
