Position Description:
Taking a key role in supporting Research projects with Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) and Systems Engineering expertise. Working closely with Research Project Leaders and providing coaching in day to day application of FMA tools such as to drive creation of robust Requirements / Product Specifications and Verification &Validation methods or Test Cases for new technology projects. Working closely with Research Project Leaders ensuring the application of FMA tools is aligned with Systems Engineering principles whereby the Technical solutions captured in the Specification for new technology can be traced back to the Voice of the Customer. Working alongside with Research Quality Lead and assisting in the assessment/ audit of the FMA documentation against sign-off criteria & preparation of status reports. Working alongside with Research Quality Lead in identifying and Delivering FMA training needs for Research, also capturing best practice and lessons learnt into training material. Working alongside with Research Quality Lead developing Quality strategy for continuous improvement to support projects success. Have an outlook and interest in New Technology, Software and Competitor/Benchmarking with ability to think outside the box.

Skills Required:
Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) tools and Quality Management Systems.
Systems Engineering and Product Development.
Team player, self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision.

Experience Required:
Experience to work with a wide range of technologies, not just a single technology group.
Experience and knowledge on a wide range of quality tools for problem analysis and problem solving.
Experience and knowledge at writing product requirements and test methods.
Experience and knowledge of application of Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) in particular of using FMEA to generate requirements.
Experience and knowledge of Systems Engineering principles.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-confidence and a 'passion for the product' are personal qualities needed to succeed in this high pressure environment, being self- motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision as well as working well within a team are also essential.
Be dispassionate with the ability to make a judgement based on objective evidence.
Have attention to detail when reviewing / auditing documentation.
Be computer literate in PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Microsoft Project
