Maths Teacher job in Brecon. Full time & long-term with the possibility of becoming a permanent role.

Your new school

This school is a mixed rural High School of 450 pupils, including 70 in the Sixth Form. The school Situated on the border of the Brecon Beacons National Park which is 45 minutes from Hereford, Ebbw Vale, Merthyr, Cardiff, Newport areas. It is one of few schools to have 93% of pupils achieve L5+ at KS3. The Welsh Government have categorised this as a 'Green' school in terms of support required. Staff adopt a whole school approach to learning and achievement, which is reflected in the general positive and proactive attitude of pupils.

Your new role

Starting in September 2017 you will work as part of a Maths department made up of five experienced teachers. You will be responsible for full teaching responsibilities (including planning and preparation) for a KS3 and KS4 Maths timetable. In addition to your teaching responsibilities you will cover other subjects in the school when required. This is a long term role and could possibly become a permanent post depending upon performance.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be a qualified teacher registered with the Education Workforce Council. You will have previous experience of teaching Maths in a secondary school. You will have a passion for learning and have a strong track record of helping pupils to achieve results. You will also possess strong behaviour and classroom management skills. You share a commitment to safeguarding and hold a DBS check.
