Balance Sheet Team Senior Analyst (Band D)

If you are looking to make your mark in one of the world’s most important industries, we are seeking a Senior Analyst to join our Market Intelligence team as we look to develop our market data and analysis offering to farmers and industry stakeholders. The role will focus on analysis of the UK cereals markets.

The role is based in the Data & Analysis team, which contains the figureheads of our data capture and analysis for various agricultural sectors. Those in the team will ensure delivery of crucial supply and demand data and balance sheet information for the UK cereals market.

The successful candidates will have a flair for data capture, analysis and presentation; including pulling out trends from the data to interpret what this means for industry. They will also be effective at building networks within the organisation and wider industry, so that our analysis utilises the best quantitative and qualitative intelligence available.

The AHDB is a statutory levy organisation that equips farmers, growers and the supply chain with independent, evidence based tools and information to grow, become more competitive and sustainable. Role Purpose:

The role of the Senior Analyst position primarily involves leading on AHDB’s work on the UK cereals balance sheets, through analysing and interpreting usage, trade and stocks statistics. In doing so, the Senior Analyst will ensure UK requirements for reporting UK cereals supply & demand to Defra and the EU Commission are met. They will ensure that UK cereals balance sheets are correctly interpreted by producing clear commentary on the implications of the supply & demand situation for each crop. As such, the Senior Analyst will be required to abreast of industry developments which have a bearing on UK cereals supply & demand. They will also work with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to gain a strong understanding of the relevant markets. The Senior Analyst will use that understanding to bring data to light for Arable farmers and wider industry, identifying market trends, why there are occurring, why they matter and what our levy payers should do about them.

Salary range: £28,296 - £42,445
