Balance Sheet Team Market Analyst (Band C)
If you are looking to make your mark in one of the world’s most important industries, we are seeking a Market Analyst to join our Market Intelligence team as we look to develop our market data and analysis offering to farmers and industry stakeholders. The role will focus on analysis of the UK cereals markets.
The role is based in the Data & Analysis team, which contains the figureheads of our data capture and analysis for various agricultural sectors. Those in the team will ensure delivery of crucial supply and demand data and balance sheet information for the UK cereals market.
The successful candidates will have a flair for data capture, analysis and presentation; including pulling out trends from the data to interpret what this means for industry. They will also be effective at building networks within the organisation and wider industry, so that our analysis utilises the best quantitative and qualitative intelligence available.

The role of the Market Analyst primarily involves ensuring the effective and timely collection of agriculture market information from primary and secondary sources to ensure delivery of key industry statistics. The Market Analyst will analyse and interpret UK cereals and oilseeds usage, trade and stocks statistics and keep abreast of industry developments, which have a bearing on UK cereals supply & demand. The Market Analyst will contribute to the UK balance sheet work by building knowledge of the sector in order to develop assumptions used to forecast usage, trade and stocks for each crop season. The Market Analyst will use that understanding to bring data to light for Arable farmers and wider industry, identifying market trends, why there are occurring, why they matter and what our levy payers should do about them.
Salary range: £25,071 - £37,606
